Barnes Slate Card

The November 1998 Alice B. Toklas Democratic Club slate card produced by political consultant Robert Barnes, with graphics by Jim Rivaldo. Slate cards and door hangers are ways that political organizations like Alice communicate their message in elections. In the Castro District of San Francisco, Alice has dropped slate cards and door hangers at residences every election for decades and, partly because of this, the Castro district has one of the highest election day voter turnout rates in San Francisco each election cycle.
