Flaming Faggots

Dansky and Pitchford were originally part of a collective called The Flaming Faggots. The group dedicated itself to combating sexism, and criticized the machismo, misogyny, and anti-gay attitudes of some straight male activists. The Flaming Faggots were also critical of the Gay Liberation Front for its support of Cuba and the Black Panther Party, which they saw as oppressive to women and gay people.
