Lorenzo Banyard, known by the drag name “Nancy Kelly,” was born in New Orleans on August 30, 1947. In a February 1994 interview with graduate student Allen Drexel, Banyard discussed LGBT life in Bronzeville, Chicago, in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.
